Coalitions

  • BUDGET JUSTICE COALITION (BJC)

The Budget Justice Coalition (BJC) aims to collaboratively build people’s participation in and understanding of South Africa’s budget and planning processes.

RHAP is both a founding member of BJC as well as currently serving on the Steering Committee.

  • EASTERN CAPE HEALTH CRISIS ACTION COALITION (ECHCAC)

ECHCAC was formed in 2013 by a group of organisations and individuals deeply concerned by the deepening crisis in health care in the Eastern Cape and its results, including increased morbidity, death, and the violation of a range of Constitutional rights and duties.

RHAP was a founding member of ECHCAC and continues to play an active role therein.

  • HEALA

HEALA is a coalition of civil society organisations advocating for equitable access to affordable, nutritious food in South Africa by building a more just food system. Their primary focus is currently on strengthening key food policy regulation.

HEALA is currently housed within RHAP, by which we provide institutional support and advocacy expertise while being an active member therein. We believe in HEALA because when food systems don’t work, it’s people’s health that pays the price.

  • TB ACCOUNTABILITY CONSORTIUM (TBAC)

Launching in 2022, TBAC seeks to deepen national, provincial and district level advocacy around TB. Building an accountability consortium could strengthen TB care in SA by consolidating the implementation of policies, technical solutions, and advocacy efforts.

TBAC is an initiative of RHAP, in partnership with SANAC, TB Think Tank, TAC and University of Stellenbosch.
